Ring Road Apparel

self-made clothing brand

ABOUT

While studying engineering I was looking for projects where I can be creative and try new things.
That's when I started a school spirit wear apparel brand, Ring Road Apparel. I was able to apply myself in several areas and learn about the process of creating clothing such as: materials, design, advertising, marketing, and pricing.

Constraints
Using a shirt printing company is very limiting. They have a low variety of shirt styles and only specific+small areas for design placement. The colours I used were restricted to the school's signature black, gold, and white.
Creative Direction
My goal was to create trendy designs which allow students to represent their school and could be worn at almost any time or occasion. My products would be cheaper, better quality, and more trendy than the school's options.
Pricing Strategy
I priced all of the items based on calculations which minimized the prices for students and the monetary risk for myself. I was able to provide good quality products at cost, with $2/order shipping fees and no product storage required.

Winter Line

Theme:
Sleek, Trendy, Effortless

The winter line was photographed in a make-shift studio, with very limited resources. Lighting was a done with a strong LED key light and featured varying fill lights for sillouettes and lighting the backdrop.
I challenged myself to create a professional shoot, despite not having the standard tools. The slider on the right contains some test shots.

Summer Line

Theme:
Candid & Social
The summer line took place entirely outdoors, emphasizing a student's free time outside of the classroom.
We went around the campus area and shot on-the-go with a Canon AE-1 35mm film camera and a Nikon DSLR camera.
