ABOUT
I worked with an artist to photograph his paintings for his art gallery submissions.
Capturing the Art
I captured all of his art in a flat/even light and a direct front-facing perspective. This was to accurately capture his work for viewings electronically. Colour correction was applied solely to match the real colours.
Creative Approach
The idea was to further display the colours and textures present in the artist's work. The textures are best communicated through the use of a strong key light, a shallow depth of field, and the angle of the camera.
Collage
The first image directly below is a collage of the artist's interest in the human face. I selected several of his paintings and positioned them with respect to the eye level to show off his variety.
